BULL RIDDING
I walk back behind the chute throw my equipment bag down, change my pants, strap my spurs to the heels of my boots, buckle my chaps on and I’m only getting started. Out of the bag I pull out the bull rope of champs and tie it to the fence and grab a handful of rosin and start to warm up my glove and rope, and it only gets better from there. The rosin starts to burn and you know that it is time for the excitement of a life time.
The smell of rosin is in the air as everyone is warming up gloves, ropes and their muscles. Legs up on the chute stretching out to try and prevent further injury, arms pulling on gates trying to get the blood flowing to the ends of your finger tips.
The gates open and finally the bulls come. Everyone watches as the bulls rattle the chutes making a new sound to be heard over the music that is blaring, one bull jumps up the chute trying to get its rider as he tries to tie his rope on. They tie his head down as he gets his rope where he wants it and then starts the adrenaline…. All the riders are getting the ropes on their bulls.
Finally my bull gets run up into the chute. He is a big yellow bull with a big o hump on his back. I cinch my rope right behind that lump
