Influences on me as a writer

Influences on my writing

I have had many influences in my writing career, my mom was/is very helpful teacher and friend she taught me how to write my name and that was just the beginning. She helped me through elementary school with my homework and small half page essays to my later on 1000 word essays. My mom was a key part in helping me belive in myself and have confidence in everything I do.

Tammy (my mom) use to give me a piece of paper and tell me that if I wanted to be the best at something I would have to put forth the effort and try my hardest, she would tell me that I was the best four year old writer she had. I let her know I was very proud I could write my name, I carved it on trees, the walls, the floor, on her bills I was the best at writing my name everywhere!

She helped me through elementary school helping me “always do your very best work”, and “make sure your teacher can read it”. I would always bring home an essay and tell her its due tomorrow and that she would probably have to write it for me cause it was too much for me, but she would help me by taking the time I needed to make it complete and in my backpack ready for tomorrow.

She didn’t stop at helping me write my name. she helped me with extra curricular activities, she helped me saddle up and ride my horse, run fast and dribble a basketball, kick a ball as far as I can, and she was even key in helping me with wrestling and giving what I had and doing my best and still be ok if I didn’t end up number one. She has been a great and a well needed influence in not only my writing but also building my imagination to where if I think I can, I can.
